Julien had thinning across the top and crown in grey hair, which lets the scalp show through more than dark hair does. This journey follows him from surgery day through months 3 and 5 to a later visit.
The Journey, Month by Month
Before Surgery
Thinning across the top and crown, with the scalp clearly visible.
Area Design
The hairline and the area to be treated are marked before the procedure starts.
First Wash
Once the small crusts around each graft clear, the treated area is evenly covered in short hair.
Early Regrowth
New hair is coming through across the crown, but coverage is still uneven.
Density Returns
The top is noticeably fuller from above, with hair still maturing.
Later Follow-Up
Grown out and styled at a later visit.
Why we show the middle months: shedding at weeks 3–6 and patchy growth at month 3 are the two points where patients most often think a transplant has failed. Both are normal stages of the hair growth cycle. Full results typically mature at 10–12 months, and longer at the crown.
