Burgis had extensive baldness across the front and top of the scalp. Larger areas take more grafts and more patience, so this journey shows the early months as they really are, from surgery day to months 3 and 5.
The Journey, Month by Month
Before: Hairline Design
The new hairline is drawn on the day of the procedure. The bald area behind it is what the grafts will cover.
The Area to Treat
Seen from above, the size of the area to be covered before any grafts are placed.
First Wash
Short, evenly spaced grafts across the whole treated area once the crusts have cleared.
Early Regrowth
Fine new hairs are appearing, though the scalp still shows through.
Coverage Building
Much fuller from above, with density still increasing.
Later Follow-Up
Styled at a later visit.
Why we show the middle months: shedding at weeks 3–6 and patchy growth at month 3 are the two points where patients most often think a transplant has failed. Both are normal stages of the hair growth cycle. Full results typically mature at 10–12 months, and longer at the crown.
