PRP(Platelet Rich Plasma)
PRP is an autologous blood treatment that stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. A small volume of blood is drawn from the patient, processed via centrifugation to concentrate platelets in the plasma, and then injected in to the targeted area.
At The Assure Clinic, we perform PRP therapy as a proactive therapeutic option for male and female patients experiencing hair loss. PRP is an exciting natural, non-surgical, regenerative option for many types of hair loss and hair thinning, with no side effects. PRP therapy is being recognized as one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for thinning hair. PRP therapy provides promising results for natural hair growth. Although results will vary from patient to patients, PRP as a non-surgical option, offers patients with miniaturization and hair thinning improvement in hair caliber and thickness.
How does PRP Work?
Platelets, can be thought of as healing factories, as they release growth factors that assist in accelerating tissue regeneration and healing. Published medical literature from Europe and the United States confirms the safety and use of PRP therapy. In the field of hair restoration, existing evidence demonstrates PRP therapy as a promising treatment option to promote hair growth.
This powerful serum PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is drawn into a syringe containing calcium chloride, which activates the platelets. Activated platelets release growth factors, the proteins responsible for repair and regeneration of tissue, including hair, stimulating the stem cells located in the Dermal Papilla as well as other structures of the hair follicle. The activated platelets are then introduced to the affected area by fine needle injection.
